Alexander Zverev defeated Brandon Nakashima 3-6, 6-1, 6-2, 6-2 in the fourth round of the US Open on Sunday. Despite losing the first set, Zverev bounced back to dominate the last three sets, securing his place in the quarter-finals. The German, who reached the final in 2020, will add $205,000 to his prize money, totaling $530,000 so far, with a chance to earn $1,000,000 if he wins his next match.

Nakashima took the first set 6-3 with a key break in the 8th game, but Zverev quickly turned the tide. In the second set, Zverev broke Nakashima twice and won five consecutive games to clinch the set 6-1. He continued his momentum in the third, breaking Nakashima twice and taking the set 6-2.

In the final set, Zverev’s powerful serves and aggressive play overwhelmed Nakashima. He broke twice and sealed the set 6-2, conceding only 17 points in the process. Zverev’s head-to-head record against Nakashima now stands at 3-0, highlighting his strong form as he moves deeper into the tournament.
