Tottenham Hotspur will be without their new striker Dominic Solanke for their upcoming Premier League home game against Everton, as the forward has sustained an ankle injury. Manager Ange Postecoglou confirmed that Solanke, who was signed from Bournemouth for £65 million, suffered the injury during Spurs’ 1-1 draw with Leicester City in their season opener.
Despite playing through the game, Solanke’s injury flared up the following day, ruling him out of Saturday’s match. Solanke, who scored 19 goals for Bournemouth last season, was expected to make a significant impact at Tottenham this season.
In addition to Solanke, Uruguayan midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur will also miss the Everton game as he follows concussion protocols. However, Mali international Yves Bissouma is available for selection after serving a suspension for the Leicester game, following a social media controversy.
Postecoglou mentioned that there could still be changes to the squad as Tottenham continues to refine its roster. The manager remains focused on building a team that aligns with his vision, despite the setbacks.
