Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat has joined Turkish side Fenerbahce on loan from Fiorentina, with an option to make the move permanent. Amrabat, who was instrumental in Morocco’s impressive run to the 2022 World Cup semi-finals, spent last season on loan at Manchester United, where he made 30 appearances.
Fenerbahce, managed by former United boss Jose Mourinho, have been drawn against the Red Devils in the Europa League. Amrabat has featured twice in Europe this season for Fiorentina in the Conference League, including a full match performance in a dramatic penalty shootout win on Thursday. Fiorentina confirmed the deal includes an obligation to buy, highlighting the club’s commitment to securing the midfielder’s services long-term.
