Premier League Darts, Littler defeated Van Gerwen to advance to the final in Belfast.

In a thrilling showdown, Luke Littler showcased his prowess by outclassing Michael van Gerwen in the latest Premier League Darts encounter, with Littler securing a commanding 6-3 victory over the former champion.

Just two weeks prior, Van Gerwen had displayed an impressive performance in Nottingham, nearly averaging 111 against Littler, but fell short of clinching the win.

However, in their latest face-off, despite Littler maintaining an average of nearly 100, Van Gerwen struggled to match his opponent’s level of play, despite putting forth a solid effort himself.

Littler’s dominance was evident through his exceptional performance, amassing 13 scores of 100+, eight scores of 140+, and landing two maximums. With a remarkable 40% checkout rate, Littler left Van Gerwen facing a daunting task, knowing that near perfection was required to secure victory against the formidable opponent.

Littler’s triumph ensures that if he clinches victory in the final against either Nathan Aspinall or Peter Wright, he will ascend above Van Gerwen in the standings, securing the second position and trailing leader Luke Humphries by just four points by the end of the night.
