TNT Sports pundit Peter Crouch and Glenn Hoddle faced unexpected travel challenges ahead of Tottenham’s Europa League opener against Qarabag, having to abandon their car and walk to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Severe rail and road disruptions delayed the match by 38 minutes, with the Azerbaijani side arriving just 15 minutes before the scheduled kick-off.

Crouch humorously recounted the experience live on air, saying, “We gave up with the car,” while Hoddle added, “Peter ran and I limped.” The chaos was caused by a suspended London Overground line and a closure on the A10, leading to significant delays for both fans and pundits.

Despite the disruption, Spurs quickly adapted, though they were reduced to 10 men after Radu Dragusin’s 10th-minute red card for a professional foul. However, they bounced back impressively, with Brennan Johnson opening the scoring just five minutes later with a precise finish from a tight angle.

The game, delayed but action-packed, ultimately showed Spurs’ resilience in the face of adversity.
