Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that influential midfielder Kevin de Bruyne will remain at the club, despite speculation about a potential move to Saudi Arabia. De Bruyne, who has one year left on his contract, acknowledged the financial lure of the Saudi Pro-League but has decided to stay with City.

“Kevin isn’t leaving,” Guardiola assured reporters ahead of City’s opening pre-season match against Celtic in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. De Bruyne played a crucial role in City’s Premier League triumph last season, securing their fourth consecutive title and his sixth with the club.

Transfer Speculations and Squad Stability

Amidst transfer rumors, Crystal Palace’s Ebereche Eze has been linked with a move to City, and Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson has attracted interest from Saudi Arabia. However, Guardiola expects to retain the core of last season’s squad.

“If someone leaves, we will discuss it, but there’s an 85-95% chance we’ll have the same squad,” Guardiola stated, indicating minimal changes before the transfer window closes.

Upcoming Premier League Campaign

Manchester City will kick off their Premier League title defense against Chelsea on 18 August. With De Bruyne’s commitment and a largely unchanged squad, City aims to continue their dominance in the upcoming season.
