Tunisian tennis star Ons Jabeur has announced that she will miss the remainder of the 2024 WTA season due to a persistent shoulder injury. The 30-year-old, who has been a three-time Grand Slam runner-up, has had a tough year struggling with both form and fitness, leading to a slip in her world ranking to 22nd.
Jabeur was forced to skip the recent US Open and hasn’t competed since her heavy defeat against Naomi Osaka in Toronto back in August. Reflecting on the year, Jabeur shared on social media, “This year has been extremely hard for me, but recovery is part of the journey.”
Despite the setback, Jabeur remains hopeful, stating that she plans to return to action at the beginning of 2025, starting with the Australian Open. Fans will be eager to see her comeback as she looks to regain her top form in the next season.
