Dallas Cowboys legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer Larry Allen has passed away at the age of 52. Allen died suddenly on Sunday while vacationing with his family in Mexico, the Cowboys announced.

Drafted in the second round in 1994, Allen spent the majority of his illustrious 14-season NFL career with the Cowboys. He played a pivotal role in their victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl 30 in January 1996. Renowned for his remarkable strength and athleticism, Allen became one of the most respected offensive linemen in the league.

After his successful tenure with the Cowboys, Allen concluded his career with the San Francisco 49ers, where he earned his 11th and final Pro Bowl selection. His outstanding contributions to the sport were recognized in 2013 when he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The Cowboys released a heartfelt statement praising Allen’s versatility and dependability. “Larry, known for his great athleticism and incredible strength, was one of the most respected, accomplished offensive linemen to ever play in the NFL. His versatility and dependability were also signature parts of his career,” the statement read. “He continued to serve as inspiration for many other players, defining what it meant to be a great teammate, competitor, and winner.”

Allen is survived by his beloved wife, Janelle, whom he often referred to as his heart and soul, and his children, daughters Jayla and Loriana, and son, Larry III. His legacy as a player and person will be remembered and cherished by many.
