Neymar’s return to action took a disappointing turn as he was forced off the field with thigh pain in Al Hilal’s 3-0 win over Esteghlal in the AFC Champions League. Entering as a second-half substitute, the Brazilian star played just under 30 minutes before feeling discomfort in his left thigh, requiring brief sideline treatment. Though he attempted to continue, Neymar ultimately left the pitch visibly frustrated, giving way to Mohammed Al Qahtani in the 86th minute.

Neymar’s appearance was marked by early intensity, including a physical exchange with Zobeir Niknafs following a foul on his first touch. Despite his short time on the field, Al Hilal’s offense continued to shine as Aleksandar Mitrović scored a hat-trick, with an assist from Renan Lodi on the second goal. The win solidified Al Hilal’s dominance in the West Group, maintaining their lead with 12 points from four games.

Due to his current registration status, Neymar’s next opportunity to play won’t come until November 26, when Al Hilal faces Al-Sadd in Qatar for Champions League matchday five. Meanwhile, Al Hilal will look to keep their form as they prepare to host Al Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League on Friday, aiming to manage without their marquee player in domestic competition.
