Newcastle United winger Miguel Almiron may be on the move this winter, with reports suggesting the Paraguayan international is available for a transfer fee of £18 million. Almiron’s agent, Daniel Campos, acknowledged the possibility of a transfer but indicated that any deal would hinge on a significant offer that matches the player’s £60,000 weekly wages.
Speaking to Chronicle Live, Campos said, “He has two and a half years left on his Newcastle contract. Unless another club makes a significant offer with commensurate wages, he will stay on Tyneside for a while yet.”
Summer Interest and Almiron’s Aspirations
Newcastle reportedly turned down offers for Almiron during the summer transfer window, including interest from Major League Soccer. However, with limited playing time and competition for spots in Eddie Howe’s side, a winter exit remains a possibility.
Almiron has also spoken fondly of playing for River Plate, the Argentine club he admired as a child. “It’s one of my greatest dreams,” Almiron said. “Whenever I can, I watch their games with my family. I’ve always wanted to play for River.”
Newcastle’s Decision Ahead
Newcastle must decide whether to keep Almiron, who remains a valuable squad member, or accept a reasonable offer to allow the player a fresh start elsewhere. As the January transfer window approaches, his future will likely be a topic of interest for both fans and potential suitors.
