Martin Odegaard sustained a concerning ankle injury during Norway’s 2-1 victory over Austria in the Nations League, with a late winner from Erling Haaland securing the result. The Arsenal captain was forced off in the second half after colliding with Austria’s Christoph Baumgartner and receiving extended treatment on the pitch.

Norway coach Stale Solbakken described the injury as a sprain, noting that Odegaard had no chance to continue and that the extent would depend on whether the ligaments were torn. Team doctor Ola Sand confirmed that Odegaard, 25, was doing well but mentioned the possibility of an MRI if further assessment was needed.

Norway currently sits second in League B Group 3 and will face Slovenia next on October 10. If the injury proves serious, Odegaard could miss crucial upcoming matches for Arsenal against Tottenham, Atalanta, and Manchester City.
