In the eighth Players Championship event, world champion Luke Humphries reached the final but was defeated 8-6 by Danny Noppert after Luke Littler’s early elimination.
Humphries overcame Gary Anderson and Chris Dobey en route to the final in Leicester. Meanwhile, Noppert’s precise finishing led him past Humphries after defeating Gerwyn Price.
Littler suffered a 6-5 loss to Kevin Doets in the third round despite recent successes in the Premier League. Additionally, Michael van Gerwen was eliminated in the last-32 stage, falling 6-4 to Andrew Gilding.
