Luis Enrique has expressed his delight after signing a two-year contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain, reaffirming his ambition to “make history” with the French champions. The Spanish coach, who took charge in 2023, praised the club’s unwavering support, which fuels his desire to leave a lasting legacy in Paris.

“From day one, the club has put everything at our disposal. The support only makes me want to continue working and improving. We want to make history here as a coaching staff,” Enrique said following PSG’s 4-1 victory over Monaco on Friday.

Despite the dominant win, Enrique downplayed the performance, citing lapses in the final minutes:
“I don’t think we had our best game. The first half was very even, and we struggled to control the ball in the last 10-15 minutes. But in the end, we deserved the victory.”

PSG remains unbeaten in Ligue 1, holding a commanding 13-point lead at the top. However, the focus now shifts to the Champions League knockout playoffs against Ligue 1 rivals Brest. Reflecting on their challenging European campaign, Enrique emphasized the team’s growth:
“We’ve been through delicate moments that have given us maturity. We will never stop fighting—that’s our goal this season: to fight until the last minute of every competition to make history.”

With domestic dominance secured, Enrique’s contract extension signals PSG’s commitment to finally conquering Europe.
