Teenager Luke Littler claimed his seventh senior title of the year by winning Players Championship 15, defeating Dutchman Wessel Nijman 8-6 in the final. The 17-year-old Englishman showed resilience in bouncing back from a first-round exit at the World Matchplay two weeks prior, where he was defeated by Michael van Gerwen.
Littler had to overcome seven opponents in a single day to secure his second Players Championship title. Reflecting on his experience, Littler mentioned the incredible atmosphere at the World Matchplay and admitted to feeling nervous on stage for the first time. However, he expressed his delight at winning the Players Championship, especially after taking a break from practicing following his Matchplay exit.
Littler acknowledged the pressure he puts on himself to win consistently but recognized the challenge of maintaining that level. He also expressed a desire to capture another major title this year.
