Lionel Messi is poised to return to action for Inter Miami in Major League Soccer after being sidelined for two months due to injury. Head coach Gerardo “Tata” Martino confirmed that Messi will be available for the upcoming match against the Philadelphia Union at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale on Saturday.

Messi had been out since suffering a right ankle sprain during Argentina’s Copa América final against Colombia on July 14. Although he missed a training session earlier in the week due to a sore throat, Martino reassured fans that Messi is fully fit and ready to play. “He’s fine… We’re all happy to have the best player in the world back in the team,” Martino said.

Inter Miami, currently leading both the Supporters’ Shield and the Eastern Conference with 59 points, are on track for a record-breaking MLS season. Messi’s return comes at a crucial time as the team looks to maintain their momentum and continue their dominant form in the league.
