Lehecka, returning from a back injury that had sidelined him since Madrid, showcased fearless tennis, hitting 17 forehand winners. The Czech player, who had not played for over two months, called the victory over Medvedev one of the best of his career, marking his return to the big stage with a statement win.
Next up for Lehecka is American Frances Tiafoe, who convincingly defeated Lorenzo Musetti 6-3, 6-2. Tiafoe’s aggressive play and strong serving saw him dominate the in-form Italian, setting the stage for an exciting match against Lehecka in the third round.
