Scottish Premiership club Hearts have parted ways with manager Steven Naismith following a dismal run of eight consecutive defeats. Despite leading the team to third place last season, Hearts are now bottom of the table with just one point from six matches. Their latest setback came in a 2-1 loss to St Mirren, sealing Naismith’s fate.

Chief executive Andrew McKinlay explained the decision, stating, “Results and performances have fallen below the standards expected… and there is little evidence of any potential upturn.” Naismith, who signed a contract extension just last month, seemed to acknowledge his precarious position after the defeat, saying, “I’m realistic to understand that the more games we pass, the more pressure builds.”

Hearts will now look for new leadership to steer them away from the relegation zone.
