Guardiola was full of praise for his players, saying, “It’s a joy to be the manager of this team. We created a lot of chances, and I feel we are improving step by step.” He highlighted the team’s ability to adapt to opponents sitting back defensively but acknowledged the need to fine-tune a few actions in attack.
James McAtee, who came off the bench and scored, also earned high praise from Guardiola. “Everyone adores him. He has the quality to find space in deep defenses,” Guardiola noted, adding that while McAtee may not be a regular this season, he will contribute significantly in key moments.
With no injuries and plenty of minutes for squad players, Guardiola described the win as “a really good night” as City prepare for their final game before the international break.
