Gilberto Ramirez clinches victory over Arsen Goulamirian, securing the WBA (Super) cruiserweight championship.

Mexico’s Gilberto Ramirez secured the WBA (Super) cruiserweight title in a highly-anticipated match against France’s Arsen Goulamirian, held in California.

This marked a significant milestone as it was Goulamirian’s first defeat in his 28-fight career, occurring during his fifth title defense. The fight, adjudicated at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, saw all three judges unanimously scoring 118-110 in favor of Ramirez.

This win further solidified Ramirez’s stellar record, now boasting 47 victories with only one defeat, which transpired in a WBA world light-heavyweight title bout against Russia’s Dmitry Bivol in May 2022.

Goulamirian, who had held the cruiserweight belt since 2018, had been inactive since November 2022, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the showdown.
