German Darts Grand Prix, Munich: Luke Humphries delivered an impressive performance by winning Michael van Gerwen convincingly.

Luke Humphries dominated Michael van Gerwen in the final, winning 8-1 to claim victory at the German Darts Grand Prix in Munich.

Despite van Gerwen holding his throw in the opening leg, he then suffered eight consecutive losses, leading to a heavy defeat. Humphries showcased outstanding form with an average of 112.66, the second highest ever in a European Tour final, and impressively hit two scores of 100-plus, including a 170 checkout in the eighth leg.

Humphries expressed admiration for van Gerwen and his satisfaction at defeating him once again in a final. Van Gerwen acknowledged Humphries’ current form as the best in the game but remained optimistic about his own prospects.

This event marked Humphries’ sixth European tour triumph and van Gerwen’s record-extending 48th final appearance. As the PDC Pro Tour continues, Humphries, van Gerwen, and rising star Luke Littler, winner of the tour’s opening event in Wieze, Belgium, will be featured in the Premier League Darts in Manchester.
