Norway’s star forward Erling Haaland took to social media to apologize following his national team’s 5-1 defeat to Austria over the weekend. The Manchester City striker, known for his prolific goal-scoring, expressed regret for his performance in what was the worst defeat of his senior career.

Haaland bypassed reporters after the game but addressed fans online, writing, “Sorry everyone, this was far too bad on my part. In November, we go for six points,” referring to their next set of international fixtures.

Teammate Sander Berge, a Fulham midfielder, supported Haaland’s decision to skip media duties, explaining, “You can feel the disappointment now. We are a team, and we stand together in ups and downs. The most important thing is that we are united.”
