Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has committed his future to the club by signing a new long-term contract, extending his stay until 2029. The 31-year-old Argentina international has been a key figure for Villa since joining from Arsenal in 2020 for £17 million, making over 150 appearances.
Martinez played a crucial role in Villa’s impressive 2023-2024 season, where he kept nine clean sheets in 34 Premier League matches, helping the team secure a fourth-place finish and qualify for the Champions League for the first time.
In addition to his club success, Martinez continued to shine on the international stage, playing all six games for Argentina as they retained their Copa America title this summer, marking their record 16th victory in the tournament.
