Jack Draper captured his first ATP 500 title with a hard-fought 6-4, 7-5 win over Karen Khachanov at the Vienna Open, marking the 22-year-old Briton’s second career title. Draper, who previously won the ATP 250 event in Stuttgart, showed resilience after a second-set challenge to seal the victory. With this win, he is set to break into the ATP Top 15 for the first time.

Draper seemed in full control, taking the first set with ease and racing to a 4-0 lead in the second. However, Khachanov, coming off a title in Almaty, surged back by winning five consecutive games. Draper regained composure just in time, securing his win to become the first player since Andy Murray in 2014 to claim the Vienna Open title on his debut.

Reflecting on the match, Draper admitted that despite a brief loss of momentum, he managed to maintain focus. “I was playing so good, and then the momentum shifted… I stayed solid and in a good mental frame,” he shared, crediting Khachanov’s skill and fighting spirit.

Draper’s dominant form throughout the tournament saw him dispatch world number 17 Lorenzo Musetti 6-2, 6-4 in the semi-finals, dropping only one set on his way to the title.
