Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz will meet in the men’s singles gold-medal match on Saturday, a rematch of their thrilling Wimbledon final last month. Djokovic advanced by defeating Lorenzo Musetti 6-4, 6-2, marking his first Olympic final appearance. The 37-year-old Serbian, who boasts a record 24 Grand Slam titles, has yet to capture an Olympic gold, with his best finish being a bronze in Beijing in 2008.

Alcaraz, the 21-year-old Spanish sensation, dominated his semi-final against Felix Auger-Aliassime with a decisive 6-1, 6-1 victory. This will be Alcaraz’s third major final in two months, having previously claimed the French Open and Wimbledon titles. Both players aim to add Olympic glory to their impressive resumes.

In the women’s singles, world number one Iga Swiatek secured a bronze medal, rebounding from her semi-final loss to China’s Zheng Qinwen, which ended her remarkable 25-match winning streak on Paris clay. Swiatek swiftly defeated Anna Karolina Schmiedlova 6-2, 6-1, earning Poland’s first-ever Olympic tennis medal.

The mixed doubles gold was won by Czech duo Katerina Siniakova and Tomas Machac, who overcame China’s Wang Xinyu and Zhang Zhizhen in a tight match, 6-2, 5-7, 10-8. Meanwhile, Canadians Felix Auger-Aliassime and Gabriela Dabrowski claimed the bronze, defeating the Dutch pair Demi Schuurs and Wesley Koolhof.
