Dame Laura Kenny, 31, announced her retirement from cycling after winning five Olympic gold medals.
She had planned to compete in the Paris Games but decided it was time to stop. Kenny cited the desire to spend more time with her family, especially after welcoming a second son with her husband, Sir Jason Kenny.
She expressed the difficulty of leaving her family for races and training camps and felt relief upon deciding to retire.
