Conor McGregor, the Irish UFC fighter, stands out as the most frequently drug-tested athlete since the start of the year, undergoing five tests. This surpasses the testing frequency of any other fighter, who typically undergoes no more than two tests. McGregor, who hasn’t fought since 2021, has expressed his eagerness to return to the octagon, although the UFC has yet to confirm his comeback officially.

During a promotional tour for his acting debut in “Road House,” McGregor has been urging the UFC to finalize a fight date. Despite briefly removing himself from the United States Anti-Doping Agency’s testing pool after his loss to Dustin Poirier in 2021, McGregor is expected to face American Michael Chandler upon his return.

After sustaining a broken leg in his previous fight, McGregor resumed participation in the anti-doping program last year. The UFC has terminated its collaboration with Usada and has instead partnered with Drug Free Sport International.

Oversight of the anti-doping program falls under Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD). Recently, heavyweight Walt Harris from the USA received the first ban under this new era. He has been suspended for 48 months due to two separate anti-doping violations in July and August of last year.
