Cardiff City have sacked manager Erol Bulut following a poor start to the Championship season, which has left the club at the bottom of the table. The decision came after a 2-0 defeat to Leeds on Saturday, leaving Cardiff with just one point from their first six matches, scoring only once and conceding 13 goals.
In a brief statement on Monday, the club confirmed that Bulut “has been relieved of his duties and will leave the club with immediate effect.” Despite signing a two-year contract extension in June after guiding Cardiff to a 12th-place finish last season, the disappointing results this term forced the club to take action.
Omer Riza will step in as interim manager as Cardiff look to turn their fortunes around.
