Artur Beterbiev, the WBC, IBF, and WBO light-heavyweight champion, was set to fight Dmitry Bivol in Saudi Arabia on June 1st. However, the fight had to be postponed because Beterbiev hurt his knee during training. He tore his meniscus, which is a part of the knee.

Top Rank Boxing, the organization behind the fight, announced that they plan to reschedule Beterbiev’s match against Bivol before the end of this year. They promised to share more information about the new date soon. This means fans will have to wait a bit longer to see the two champions face off in the ring.

Despite the postponement of Beterbiev-Bivol fight, the undercard event featuring Deontay Wilder’s fight against Zhilei Zhang will still happen. Turki Alalshikh, the chairman of Saudi Arabia’s general entertainment authority, confirmed that the event will proceed as planned, offering some consolation to boxing fans.
