Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has released his debut single, “Don’t Shoot,” collaborating with Ajax’s Chuba Akpom and Ramsgate’s Medy Elito. The song’s message aims to discourage youth violence in London and encourage positive pursuits.

Iwobi, who grew up witnessing criminal activity in London, explained that the song’s lyrics are meant to inspire young people to channel their energy into constructive activities like sports or music. “We want to show everyone that there are better paths to take,” Iwobi said.

The release of “Don’t Shoot” coincides with Iwobi’s summer break after a successful season with Fulham, where he scored five goals and registered two assists in 30 Premier League games. Despite his musical venture, Iwobi remains focused on football as Fulham prepares for their Premier League opener against Manchester United on August 16.

With his debut single, Iwobi aims to leverage his influence to make a positive impact on his community, demonstrating that he is more than just a footballer.
