Adrien Rabiot is set to sign a two-year contract with Ligue 1 side Marseille, after successfully passing a medical, as announced by the club on Sunday evening. The French international, who was previously a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Juventus last June, has now found a new home in French football.
Rabiot, a former PSG player, will add intrigue to the upcoming ‘Classique’ clashes between Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain, heightening the rivalry. His salary at Juventus was reportedly between €7 million and €7.5 million net per year, and his move back to Ligue 1 comes after missing out on a call-up to the latest French national team squad.
Marseille’s confirmation of the deal follows earlier reports by L’Équipe, signaling Rabiot’s return to French football after a stint in Italy.
