Late goals from Crysencio Summerville and Dan James secured a crucial victory for Leeds United, ensuring they maintained their position in the Championship’s automatic promotion spots.

The game against Hull City at Elland Road was a rollercoaster of emotions, with Sam Byram initially putting Leeds ahead with a powerful header after Summerville’s shot was saved. However, Hull City fought back, with Fabio Carvalho equalizing with a superb finish.

Leeds had several missed opportunities, but the tension escalated as Mateo Joseph hit the post with just minutes remaining. Summerville then converted a penalty, despite a dispute with Joel Piroe, before Dan James sealed the win in added time with a stunning long-range effort.

The victory was particularly uplifting for James after the disappointment of Wales’ Euro qualification defeat. The win kept Leeds in second place, with Ipswich Town leading and Leicester City closely behind. Despite Hull’s valiant effort, they extended their winless streak to six matches, remaining in ninth place.

Leeds manager highlighted the challenges his team faced, praising their resilience against a tough opponent, while Hull’s coach expressed frustration at the result but remained optimistic about their performance and the remaining matches of the season.
