Manchester United midfielder, Kobbie Mainoo, has earned his inaugural call-up to the England squad for the upcoming friendlies against Brazil and Belgium.

Initially selected for the under-21s squad, Mainoo has been promoted to Gareth Southgate’s senior side. England’s matches against Brazil on Saturday and Belgium on March 26, both hosted at Wembley, mark their final preparations before Southgate finalizes his squad for Euro 2024.

The remaining 26-man squad convened at St George’s Park on Tuesday. Hailing from Stockport, the 18-year-old academy graduate has represented England at the under-17s, under-18s, and under-19s levels.

Making his debut start for Manchester United against Everton in November, Mainoo has since amassed 19 additional appearances, including his first goal for the club in a FA Cup fourth-round victory against Newport at the close of January, followed by a decisive late goal against Wolves in the Premier League four days later.
