Despite a triple-double effort from Domantas Sabonis (29 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists), the Kings fell short as the Lakers held on to improve to 3-0.

The Clippers also secured a hard-fought 109-104 victory over the Denver Nuggets, led by Norman Powell’s clutch 37-point performance, including 22 points in the fourth quarter. Nikola Jokic posted a stunning 41 points, including a career-high seven 3-pointers, but missed a game-tying attempt, allowing the Clippers to improve to 3-0 despite Kawhi Leonard’s absence.

In Detroit, the Boston Celtics rallied to edge the Pistons 124-118, overcoming a late deficit with an 18-6 run. Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 37 points, while Jaylen Brown contributed 24. Cade Cunningham’s layup put Detroit ahead 112-106 with just over five minutes left, but Jrue Holiday hit back-to-back 3-pointers to tie it, and Tatum’s free throws sealed the win, keeping Boston’s record perfect at 3-0.

Other standout performances saw Kevin Durant scoring 31 points in the Phoenix Suns’ 114-102 win over Dallas, despite Luka Doncic’s impressive 40 points and 10 rebounds. San Antonio’s Victor Wembanyama dropped 29 points to lead the Spurs past Houston 109-106, securing a narrow win as Houston’s Jalen Green missed a potential game-tying shot at the buzzer.
