Seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady has officially become a part of the Las Vegas Raiders ownership group after NFL team owners approved his minority stake on Tuesday. The 46-year-old retired quarterback now holds a 5% share in the Raiders, who are currently struggling with a 2-4 start this season.
The approval concludes an 18-month process that involved negotiations over Brady’s ownership percentage and restrictions tied to his role as an NFL analyst for Fox Sports. While Brady is allowed to broadcast Raiders games, he is prohibited from attending production meetings or accessing players and coaches due to league rules. Brady’s illustrious playing career includes 20 seasons with the New England Patriots, where he won six Super Bowls, and another title with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020. He retired with NFL records in completions (7,753), passing yards (89,214), and touchdowns (649).
