The final of the expanded 2025 FIFA Club World Cup will take place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, as announced by FIFA president Gianni Infantino. The tournament, featuring 32 clubs for the first time, will run from June 15 to July 13. MetLife Stadium, which will also host matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, is home to the NFL’s New York Giants and New York Jets.

The competition will be held at 12 venues across the U.S., including two on the West Coast: Rose Bowl in Pasadena and Lumen Field in Seattle. The tournament coincides with the CONCACAF Gold Cup, which will largely take place on the West Coast. Other key stadiums include Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta), Hard Rock Stadium (Miami), and Lincoln Financial Field (Philadelphia).

The expanded Club World Cup will feature top clubs from around the world, including Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, River Plate, and Boca Juniors. FIFA president Infantino hailed the tournament as a “true example of worldwide club football solidarity” with teams from Africa, Asia, and Oceania facing the powerhouses of Europe and South America.

The event will serve as a key test ahead of the 2026 World Cup, with particular attention on security after crowd issues at recent Copa America games. However, the tournament has faced opposition from organizations like FIFpro and the European Leagues due to concerns over scheduling congestion and player workload.
