Maresca praised the team’s consistency despite multiple changes in the lineup, saying, “No matter who is going to play, it’s important that the identity of the team is always there.” He emphasized the importance of taking such matches seriously, acknowledging the potential dangers of underestimating lower-division opponents.
The Chelsea boss also highlighted the maturity of his young squad, adding, “Even if we are the youngest squad in the Premier League, they have to show how serious we are. Tonight, we wanted to send a message: yes, we are young, but we are men, we are serious, and we want to compete.”
