Carlos Alcaraz expressed his excitement about teaming up with Rafael Nadal for Spain at the Davis Cup finals but hopes it won’t be a farewell appearance for the 22-time Grand Slam champion. Spain named both Alcaraz and Nadal in their squad for the November finals in Malaga, despite Nadal’s limited participation due to injury, having missed six of the last seven Grand Slams.

Alcaraz, 21, admitted he “missed” Nadal during the recent Laver Cup, which the 38-year-old skipped due to fitness concerns. “I don’t want to think that it is a potential last dance for him in Malaga,” said Alcaraz at the China Open in Beijing.

Alcaraz is excited to share the court with Nadal for his first Davis Cup final, acknowledging the wealth of experience the tennis legend brings. He hopes that this appearance isn’t Nadal’s final one, as they prepare to play in front of home fans in Spain.
