World No. 1 Iga Swiatek has pulled out of the upcoming Korea Open, citing fatigue, tournament organizers confirmed on Friday. The 2023 French Open champion had already withdrawn from last month’s Canadian Open for similar reasons, following her intense season, which included winning bronze at the Paris Olympics and a US Open quarter-final exit to Jessica Pegula.

Pegula, the defending Korea Open champion and US Open finalist, has also withdrawn from the WTA 500 event in Seoul due to a rib injury. Additionally, former Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina will miss the tournament with a back injury, while US Open semi-finalist Emma Navarro withdrew due to scheduling changes.

The Korea Open is set to take place from September 16-22.
