The Netherlands secured back-to-back women’s wheelchair basketball titles, defeating the USA 63-49. Switzerland excelled in the wheelchair marathons, with Marcel Hug and Catherine Debrunner winning gold.
Despite concerns about ticket sales, the Paralympics enjoyed packed stadiums and a positive atmosphere, demonstrating the unifying power of sport.
