Nottingham Forest have bolstered their attacking lineup by signing Paraguay forward Ramon Sosa from Talleres for £9.3 million. The 24-year-old, who has inked a five-year deal, arrives at the City Ground with an impressive record of 17 goals and 13 assists in 56 appearances for the Argentine top-flight club.
Sosa, who can operate both as a forward and a winger, has earned 14 caps for Paraguay and recently shone in the Copa America. Ross Wilson, Forest’s chief football officer, highlighted Sosa’s enthusiasm to join the club, saying, “Ramon has been coveted by many clubs but was so clear in his desire to join Nottingham Forest. His energy, emotion, pride, and excitement to be here were evident from the first minute he arrived.”
Sosa began his career in Paraguay, winning the Copa Paraguay with Olimpia in 2021 before moving to Argentina, where his debut season with Gimnasia saw him notch six goals and seven assists, leading to his transfer to Talleres.
The signing of Sosa comes just ahead of Forest’s Premier League opener against Bournemouth and follows a series of recent acquisitions, including wingers Jota Silva, midfielder Elliot Anderson, defenders Nikola Milenkovic and Eric da Silva Moreira, and goalkeeper Carlos Miguel.
