England squandered the chance to secure their place in the Euro 2024 knockout stages as Group C winners with a lackluster performance against Denmark in Frankfurt, ultimately settling for a draw.

Needing a win to top Group C after an earlier draw between Slovenia and Serbia, Gareth Southgate’s side was fortunate to escape with a point from a disorganized and chaotic display. Harry Kane gave England an 18th-minute lead by scoring in his fourth successive major tournament, but this early success led to a defensive approach that allowed Denmark to dominate.

Denmark equalized deservedly through Morten Hjulmand’s powerful 25-yard strike in the 34th minute. Phil Foden hit the post after the break, but England’s overall performance was underwhelming.

Despite remaining at the top of their group, England must significantly improve in their upcoming match against Slovenia. This performance raised doubts about their status as potential favorites to win Euro 2024.
