Veteran defender Sergio Ramos will not return to Sevilla next season, the Spanish club announced on Monday. The 38-year-old Ramos informed the club that he did not intend to extend his contract, which ended after this season.

Ramos, who joined Sevilla from Paris Saint-Germain last season, has not yet publicly announced his future plans. He is not part of Spain’s squad for the upcoming European Championship in Germany, having retired from international play last year.

Ramos spent more than a decade at Real Madrid after joining the club from Sevilla in 2005, scoring seven goals in 37 appearances during his latest stint with Sevilla. His official farewell will take place on Monday.
