Gervonta Davis successfully defended his WBA lightweight title by knocking out Frank Martin in the eighth round in Las Vegas. Davis, known as “Tank,” secured the victory by backing Martin onto the ropes and delivering a powerful left uppercut followed by a left hook, sending Martin to the canvas.

Davis celebrated his win by standing on the ropes and performing a backflip into the ring, further extending his undefeated record to 30-0, with 28 of those victories coming by knockout. This bout marked Martin’s first loss in his 19-fight professional career.

The fight was Davis’s first since he handed Ryan Garcia his first career defeat in April 2023. Garcia was present at the bout and interacted with Davis afterward, showing him a message on his T-shirt requesting a rematch.
